kanthari auction: a bid for change supporting kanthari’s Vision

In Trivandrum, South India, a unique initiative known as kanthari is shaping the future of social change. A few months ago, a symbol of dignity has made its way into the hands of those willing to contribute to this transformative cause – a statue of a king, sculpted with purpose and a mission. Ralf Knoblauch is the driving force behind the King’s sculptures with a mission to remind people that all of us should be there for and supporting each other!
This statue, intricately carved with a kanthari Chili, is up for auction until January 6, 2024, with all proceeds going to support kanthari.

The Royal Encounter: Imagine a king visiting the kanthari campus, where social visionaries are honed into change-makers. Each one, driven by a passion to bring about positive societal and or environmental transformation, undergoes training in real-life scenarios.
The kanthari participant’s span diverse ideas to create an impact in their communities, from schools and environmental projects to peace academies, inclusion programs, and support systems for marginalized women and/or the disabled.

Dignity in Action: What sets kanthari apart is its commitment to preserving the dignity of those it aims to uplift. In many places, marginalized individuals face pity and compassion, but at kanthari, the approach is different. Social projects are led by those who have directly or indirectly experienced and overcome the very challenges they seek to address. This equal footing ensures that dignity is not just preserved but celebrated.

The king’s base features a carved kanthari chili, a plant synonymous with resilience, courage, and a challenge to the status quo. The auction, ending on January 6, 2024, at 12 noon (EST), provides a unique opportunity to house this symbol of empowerment. find more details and learn about the kanthari participants at:
